Novel Process: Fun, Fast Novel Planning and Development -- a five week seminar.

September, 20th - October 18th.
Salem, OR.

This course will begin September 20th and run five weeks. Meetings will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoons. The location has not been finalized at this time (Aug. 18th). It will probably be at the Tea Party Bookshop or in the classroom at my home, both are in Salem, OR.

The course will take students from blank page to detailed outline and a number of finished scenes. Processes explored will include fast idea generation, character development, arc development, creation and exploitation of themes, story prototyping (story boarding), emotional cause-and-effect management, and refinement to voice and style. The class is appropriate to all levels of development. Beginners will learn a framework on which to hang future learning. Veterans will explore techniques designed to create insights into their creative processes and refinements to their current techniques.
